How We Collaborate…

From restorations at the Burgh Halls to bug hotels at The Children’s Wood, we’re proud to have worked with so many charities, schools, and community groups across Maryhill and North Glasgow.

While our projects reach across the city, everything we do is Made in Maryhill. We celebrate the area’s long history of industry and innovation, and we take pride in continuing that tradition by building skills, improving shared spaces and supporting the people who live here.

Working locally means building on the skills, creativity and strengths already in our neighbourhood. It allows us to respond directly to the ideas and needs of our community, working on projects that people feel connected to and proud of.

Cleveden School

Our project with the Campsie Centre at Cleveden Secondary School has been all about inspiring creativity and confidence through hands-on learning. We worked with pupils on a variety of outdoor and classroom-based activities, from building bug hotels and bird boxes to making welly boot racks and colourful decorations for the school garden. Learning practical woodwork and DIY skills has enabled the pupils to build confidence, teamwork and problem-solving abilities, all while enjoying the wellbeing benefits of being active and creative.

Esther’s Memorial Bench

Esther Brown was a founding member of the Woodlands Community garden. She served as a trustee for the project and volunteered her time to support the project and the people who used it.

This bench was commissioned by the Woodlands Community Development Trust and completed in 2023 to celebrate Esther’s life and commitment to the project.

Maryhill Integration Network

We were right around the corner in Maryhill building custom raised beds with Maryhill Integration Network. These are part of their ongoing project to develop a growing space in their garden and these raised beds will be used for food. It was great to see so many of their members get involved in building the planters and filling them with compost - they even collected the timber on foot from our workshop!

Dandelion Festival - Build Together Planter

Remember that amazing festival in Kelvingrove Park in 2022? Well we were there building a 2m long ‘Build Together Planter’. We built the frame and installed it at the festival and over the weekend, more than 120 people decorated pallet wood panels to build the planters sides. The completed planter was then donated to Home Start in Maryhill for their garden space.
