Max's Handmade French Bread Board | Reclaimed Oak

£50.00

French Style Bread Board with Crumb Tray

A tried and tested design for your kitchen. Each of these French-style boards is handcrafted by Max, one of our longest-standing volunteers, who's been transforming donated oak flooring into beautiful, functional pieces for nearly three years. The design is simple and clever: a slatted top lets you slice fresh bread without the mess, while the tray beneath catches every crumb. Max has been using his own version of this exact design for more than twenty-five years, so he knows it works. The reclaimed oak gives each board its own character - grain patterns, colour variations, and all the marks that come with wood that's had a previous life. The joinery is solid and built to last. Max has now made over ninety of these boards, and he does more than just craft them - he shares his skills with new volunteers in the workshop, passing on his knowledge and love of making. This board was handcrafted by Max at Boomerang Woodworking in Maryhill, Glasgow.

Materials: Reclaimed oak (donated flooring)

Dimensions: 285mm W x 405mm H x 30mm D

Finish: Food-safe mineral oil

Care: Hand wash and dry thoroughly after each use. Re-oil with food-safe mineral oil once a month (or when the wood starts to look dry). Just rub it in, let it soak for a few hours, then wipe off any excess.

About Boomerang: Every piece from our workshop is made by volunteers and community members at Boomerang Woodworking, a not-for-profit community workshop in Maryhill, Glasgow. We use reclaimed and donated timber to create quality woodwork while supporting mental wellbeing, building skills, and bringing people together. When you buy from us, you're supporting our community and helping keep our workshop open for those who need it most.
